Candidate Filing Options for November Presidential General Election
Please review our electronic candidate filing procedures. We encourage all candidates take advantage of this new and convenient filing option.
Candidate Registration Form
Candidates running for office for the November 3, 2020 Presidential General Election should complete the Candidate Registration Form and email it to Michelle Yue, Candidate Service Lead at MYue@smcacre.org. Upon receipt of the completed Candidate Registration Form, our office will call the candidate to set up a filing appointment to complete the candidate fling process. For information about the candidate filing process, please refer to our Candidate Guide.
- City candidates shall file Nomination Papers with their City Clerk’s office. City candidates should check with their City Clerk regarding the number of required nomination signatures.
- San Mateo County Harbor District candidates should file Nomination Papers with a minimum of 25 signatures with the County Elections Office.
- Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District candidates should file Nomination Papers with a minimum of 50 signatures with the district.
- All other special district and school district candidates are NOT required to file Nomination Papers.
