(Redwood City, CA) Mark Church, San Mateo County Chief Elections Officer & Assessor-County Clerk-Recorder, announced today, the opening of the Candidate Filing period for the November 5, 2024 Presidential General Election.
For candidates seeking elected office, the filing period opens at 8 a.m. on July 15, 2024 and closes at 5 p.m. on August 9, 2024. For offices without eligible incumbents seeking re-election, the candidate filing period is open for an additional five (5) calendar days and closes at 5 p.m. on August 14, 2024.
Persons interested in serving their communities in an elected office should contact Candidate Services at CandidateServices@smcacre.gov. You may also call or text 650.312.5222, to make an appointment to review the steps, forms and requirements for a successful filing.
Candidates for Federal, State and County offices were selected from the results of the March 5, 2024 Presidential Primary Election. City candidates should obtain and file their documents at their City Clerk’s Office.
